The start of 2010 was sad with the tragic death, through a car accident, of
a very close friend of many of the pupils at the school. This was a very trying time for
all as we grieved together and helped the younger ones to find their
strength in God. On top of that, the pupil who had been driving the car
where the person died, has also joined our ACE class
at Southern Lakes Christian School. So we envisage that we will be quite
involved in supporting this teenager through the court process that will
now follow.

We are still awaiting the final decision from the MOE regarding our
integration application, and expect that to come through by April.
In the meantime, God has been so good to us in seeing us through a very difficult
financial period.

We have started the year with a total of 28 children, having lost 3 to the
high school and gained another 5; 2 for the ACE class and 3 for the junior
class. We are looking forward to an increase throughout this year.

Our staff remains the same, with Simon Purvis teaching the Senior class,
myself teaching the Junior class and Hine Marchand, a parent, is
voluntarily supervising the ACE class every day. We are looking forward to htis year being
one of achieving new heights in our educational delivery to the children. We all have such a
passion to serve God and it is wonderful to come to school each day to
teach the pupils to know and serve our wonderful God and to guide these pupils in finding
their purpose in Him.

We can only report that God is amazing, and truly wonderful, being the
source of all that we need. He never fails!

Have a great meeting in Nelson.
